Buenos Aires always enjoys an intense theatre activity. Plays presented in San Martín Theatre, Colón Theatre and Nacional Cervantes Theatre are classic plays and innovating versions of the universal theatre and lyric.
Plays at Avenida Corrientes ussually are musical comedies, tango shows and local versions of worldwide plays: Lola Membrives, Nacional, Astral, Complejo Teatral La Plaza, Metropolitan, Ópera.
Teatro-off or alternative is concentrated within Palermo and San Telmo. Usually, vanguard plays are created by young people and presented in small spaces which are remodeled as theatre rooms, with an important public rotation, particularly young people.

Finally the PHANTOM OF THE OPERA , the greatest musical comedy for all time arrived at Buenos Aires, to the Theater Opera, with the same putting, the same clothes and the same stage scene that made it anywhere in the world famous. The Ghost of the Opera not only was consecrated by the public worldwide, but it received more than 50 prizes between which they stand out: 7 Tony Prizes, 7 Drama Desk Awards and 5 nominations for the Oscar in its version for the cinema.
